Deuteronomy 28: 26-68 describes the history of Blacks in America. Although displaying the most talent and innovation, Blacks as a group, still statistically show they often fall behind in education, employed at the lowest paying jobs, have the highest incarceration rates, and live in some of the worse neighborhoods. SUBG would like to attempt to break these generational curses by encouraging others to showcase their talents and invest in Black ideas, products, and services to generate a positive economic presence for Blacks.

Lauren Pitts

CEO

Lauren Pitts brings an abundance of knowledge and experience to her clients. She has worked in roles in K-12 education, higher education, sales, business development, career development, and corporate recruiting. These various roles has enabled her to work with others nationally and across the globe in Germany, Spain, and Italy. She obtained her undergraduate degree from the nation’s first Historically Black College and University, Lincoln University in Pennsylvania. During her time at Lincoln University, she studied abroad in Spain where she studied and learned Spanish and also taught English. She graduated Cum Laude  with 2 Bachelors of Arts in both English and Education. After graduation she dedicated much of her time to servicing Black and Latino communities in Philadelphia through organizations such as Philadelphia Freedom Schools, City Year of Greater Philadelphia, and Girard College. Since then, Lauren has received her certificate in Grant Proposal Writing from Fort Hayes State University and is also pursuing her Master of Arts in Organizational Leadership with a concentration in Civic Engagement. Passion is what prompts her to service Black communities across America in areas of financial literacy, education, and establishing Black independence. Her previous business ventures include a student transportation service, a resume writing and interviewing service and a daycare. Start-Up Business Guru is her fourth business that she established to help other Black Americans with the start-up process.
